Kongo Nkisi figures were carved to function as a container with magical power embedded on to it’s body.  The figure is wrapped in leather and has glass eyes, a bone necklace and open mouth baring teeth. It was used in rituals functioning to promote prosperity, enhance fertility, to combat disease and to punish wrongdoers through witchcraft.
