Tutsi women of the ruling class created fine coiled baskets with cone shaped lids called Agaseki. Baskets were given as part of the marriage promise in weddings and engagements in the Tutsi royal courts. These elegant baskets are made from native grasses, reeds and sisal fiber, patterned with spiral lines, zigzags and triangles.
