The geographical origin places this mask in the southern part of Guro country that borders the Bete country.  This mask presided over peace ceremonies after armed conflict and judicial sessions.  The mask has a Guro style three plaited coiffure and Bete arching brows, eliiptical eye slits, open mouth with missing filed teeth and traces of blue pigment.  The brows, eyes and forehead are decorated with kaolin.
