Our janus faced Ekoi mask is mounted on a basketry pedestal worn on top of the dancer’s head. Ekoi or Ejagham masks were worn by accomplished male dancers and used during funerals and initiations. This exceptional headdress has a tapering neck, displaying two faces covered with antelope skin, with open mouth of filed teeth, and tapered coiffure with human hair. Headdress is in fine condition with some loss of hair
