Songye fetish figures were used as an effective instrument for healing, fertility and protection from evil spirits, sorcerers and hostile powers. The figure is in good condition with some loss to the feet and an age crack along the left side. The fetish has a magical animal horn set into the crown of it’s head, hands to the abdomen. It has a triangular face with heavy lidded eyes, linear nose and a rich reddish brown patina.
