Songye Kifwebe masks were used in a variety of situations such as initiations, funerals, witchcraft, healing and fertility. Most female masks have a grooved surface of white kaolin and black accents with half moon eyes and jutting mouth. The mask in good condition with some abrasions and an age crack along upper left side, stable.
