The Bamun carved human male figures of varying size that symbolized majesty in the Grassfields of Cameroon. These figures are commemorative portraits of royal ancestors and possibly memorials to the king. The figure is carved of wood covered with native cloth and is stitched with dark blue, red and yellow glass trade beads.
