This rare, Senufo horseman is thought to portray secular authority, a warrior hero, noble hunter or ruler, expressing tribal belief and ideology. The mounted rider has elegant lines and carved with exceptional style. Horses were introduced from north of the Sahara to Africa in 1000 A.D
