This group of Dan and Bassa miniature masks were replicas of existing larger masks.  They were used as protective charms against illness, harm and for successful hunting and travel. These passport masks were collected in Liberia from 1969-1975 by Blake Robinson, a diplomat working as the director of the US Educational & Cultural foundation
