Exhibited is a powerful Teke figure with facial scarification, trapezoidal beard, slit eyes and cap-like hairstyle. The body was once fully encased with with a mass of apotropaic materials now evidenced by a small bundle in the hollowed out cavity. These magical fetish figures were used by ritual specialist for protection against witchcraft, disease and for successful hunting.
