Our Salampasu mask with aggressive features belonged to a warrior’s society and was used during circumcision rites and for acts of appeasement. This striking mask has a low bulging forehead, fierce eyes, square open mouth with filed teeth and is covered in layered copper with brass nail heads. The coiffure has openwork woven cane knobs and plaited fiber pendant from the chin.
