Our miniature Pende figure depicts a dancer wearing a woven mesh and raffia costume with Giwoyo mask. These masks were danced at funerals to usher the spirit of the departed out of the village. The figure stands on a circular base, the mask is carved in detail and there are seed pods around the ankles to represent rattles.
