The Galwa mask was used by the judicial Okukwe society during rites of passage ceremonies such as birth, initiations, weddings and funerals. It has an oval face with closed eyelids, thin nose and smile and is decorated with opposing dark triangles and white background. There are old nails protruding along the forehead and chin.
