Our Ethiopian brass ornament from the Borana or Oromo people was used to decorate women’s ceremonial clothing and as a form of currency for barter. The disc resembles an Ethiopian shield with central projection, surrounded by a floral decoration, two incised circles of dots around the perimeter and four sets of holes for attachment.
