The Pende pendant known as Ikhoko is a miniature representation of a mask that was carried by an initiate throughout his life for protection. This exquisite wood amulet has a somber, heart-shaped face, downcast eyes, arching brows, triangular nose, small mouth and is highlighted by a long beard.
